The forest in Among Trees is home to a great deal of wildlife, some of which poses a threat to the player. You cannot hunt any of the wildlife in the current game (version 0.5.31). There are no bows and the animals will flee and are immune to axe swings.
You can use a fishing pole to get fish, skin, and bones which are useful for Crafting thread and making clothes in the Sewing Room. Beehives can be destroyed with an axe for Gathering resources.
